The Heartbreak of Love

Deeper than my very being
is the love I hold for him
My body beats in rhythm with his heart.
Does he know and feel what I’am saying
when I tell him that my very soul would
parish as a bloom without water.
Were he here no longer
where would be the joy.
We are connected by some
unseen gossamer thread and
our love holds that thread intact.
Let’s not have unkind words anymore.
