Time for Change for Palmer

Sep 18, 2026 | Featured, September 2026

Contributed by Michael Bowles

My name is Michael Bowles and I am running to bring change to the Greater Palmer area this November.

I am a combat veteran who served two tours in Iraq and received the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service in a combat environm

ent. I have served both my country and state since 2001. My experience serving in the Army and State of Alaska has taught me that a successful mission has objectives, goals, and measurable outcomes. Legislators should be held to the same standard.

Delena Johnson has served our community for years, and I respect that service but after nearly a decade in Juneau, voters are entitled to ask if our government is more accountable, more affordable, and more effective than when she arrived, and it’s not…quite the opposite.

This race isn’t about whether my opponent is a good person or whether she’s served our community. She has. This race is about who is best for this job. It’s about whether nearly a decade in Juneau has produced the results the Greater Palmer area and District 25 deserves or whether it’s time for a different approach.

I have served in government from inside State of Alaska agencies and from the elected local-government side as your Assemblyman. I have the proven experience and outstanding record that shows I work hard and get positive results.

After nearly a decade in Juneau, I want the conversation to be about measurable results for Palmer, Butte, Lazy Mountain and Knik River. This isn’t mudslinging, this is accountability.

It’s time for integrity, honesty, and accountability. It’s time to clean House. Vote for Michael Bowles this November.
