Bearpaw River Brewing Company will host a vibrant new art exhibition titled “FLAMAZING,” featuring original watercolors by local artist Suzanne Bach Edwards. The community is invited to the opening on Saturday, September 5, 5-6pm at the brewery, 4605 E. Palmer-Wasilla Highway.
The collection was inspired by a visit to the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans, where Edwards was captivated by the flamingo exhibit and the birds’ unique form and movement.
“The curved patterns created by all of their necks moving about was intriguing,” Edwards said, noting that their lanky legs and distinct angles reminded her of “walking chopsticks.”
“FLAMAZING” translates that fascination into fluid, colorful watercolor pieces capturing the energy, rhythm and grace of the birds. Opening-night attendees can meet Edwards, discuss her creative process and view the collection firsthand.
The artwork will remain on display throughout September. Bearpaw River Brewing Company is open daily, 3-8pm.
